Katherine Page Hahn is an author illustrator of middle grade and family-oriented fantasy living in Denver, Colorado. Having earned a BA in art from the University of Colorado, Denver, with minors in physics and anthropology, she has worked in fine art, graphic design, set design and illustration. While raising her family she began writing. Katherine now teaches martial arts to children, who continually amuse, astonish and inspire her.

Katherine published her debut novel, Alex Hollow and the Monsters of Morningside, in September 2025.

In stories and art, Katherine is drawn to that which is sensitive, observant, gestural, magical, tender, terrifying, sweet, devastating, and delightful. She seeks to inhabit the spiritual framework of childhood: experiencing all things as new and surprising; staggered by the scale of the world; vulnerable to the forces that strive to impose order on wild things; fierce in the quest for love and freedom.

Katherine’s favorite tales include: Dav Pilkey's Dragon books, The Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula K. LeGuin, A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L’Engle, The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien, The Selfish Giant by Oscar Wilde, The White Stag, Plain Kate by Erin Bow, Engine Summer by John Crowley, The Golden Compass by Philip Pullman, Lilith and Phantastes by George MacDonald, and In the Night Kitchen by Maurice Sendak.
